Sunday in Mumbai was definitely a day of learning, from the unique opportunity riding the streets in the early morning, on the Memorial Ride (you sure have to be tough and fast to ride the streets of Mumbai) to an afternoon of filming insightful discussions with top business leaders. But the learning didn't stop there, it intensified.
The late afternoon was spent with the students at The Holy Mother English School (yes, a Sunday) now that is commitment - to get in your uniform and come to school on a Sunday - but that is exactly what these students and their teachers have in spades - the commitment to learn.
A huge thank you to the very famous actress Sai Tamhankar who shared the 'stage' and gave very positive and direct advice to the young ladies in the audience, in fact to everyone, students, teachers and parents alike. The focus and drive, the thirst for knowledge and it's critical analysis really sets these students apart - especially when you understand the challenging environment in which they live their lives - and if that is not enough, they actively fundraise to provide education opportunities to other young women who would of had no access otherwise.
Many thanks to their inspirational Head Mohd Rafiq, Teach For India and of course, The Holy Mother English School for the opportunity, I am sure we will be seeing each other again soon.
Humbled and inspired.
